Obituary for Angelo D. Salvemini
Angelo Dominic Salvemini passed away Saturday, October 9th at Beechwood care facility in New London. He was born May 20, 1938 in Hoboken, NJ to the late Marie Gesmundo DeSario and Onofrio Salvemini. Angelo moved to Norwich in 1955 and was a graduate of Norwich Free Academy. He had a decades long career in the computer industry, where his self-taught skills enabled him to establish multiple companies that operated in the New Jersey and Connecticut area. Much of his hobbies were focused on computers, boating, and music. He played saxophone as a member of the popular New England band the LaSalle’s, founded by his late brother Joseph. Angelo is survived by his brother, Anthony Salvemini and his wife Coleen of Lisbon, his son Clifford Salvemini and his wife Kathy, his daughter Lorraine May and her husband Dennis, his grandchildren Gabriella Salvemini, Katherine Stramaglia and her husband Paul, Michelle Koch and her husband Steve, Sydney May, and Samantha May, and his great granddaughters Laney and Eleanor Koch, along with cherished nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to his long time caregiver Robin Brown, along with numerous other caregivers, visiting nurses, and staff members of Recovery Resources, Utopia Home Care of New London, VNA of Southeastern CT, and Connecticut Community Care. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Smilow Cancer Hospital c/o Maryann Nash-Director of Oncology Services, 230 Waterford Parkway, South Waterford, CT 06385 or Faith Lutheran Church, 625 Poquonnock Rd, Groton, CT 06340. Calling hours will be held at Godere Funeral Home 21 N Second Ave Taftville on Friday October 15 from 6-8PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday October 16 at 11:00 AM.
