Obituary for Arlene T. Corcoran
Arlene T. Corcoran, a resident of Norwich Rehab / Care Facility and formerly of Taftville, CT passed away at Backus Hospital on Saturday November 18 after a brief illness.
Born December. 4, 1931 in Norwich to the late William J. Corcoran and Anna Boenig Corcoran she was pre deceased by her brother William J. Corcoran Jr. And his wife Phyllis Corcoran.
Arlene graduated from NFA and worked in Willimantic for the Textile Workers Union and later retired from the State of CT where she worked at the Norwich Motor Vehicle Dept.
Arlene leaves behind several cousins, a special cousin, Patty Phanuef from Taftville, a niece Colleen D'Angelo and her husband Gary of VA, a nephew, William J. Corcoran III of Norwich and her niece Donna Lupinacci and her husband Tony from Lebanon. Arlene also leaves behind many grand and great grand nieces and nephews as well as a special friend Joyce Barry who she befriended while living at the Johnson Home in Norwich.
Although she had no children of her own she loved her nieces and nephews and cousins and always had a special pet or two that she cared for. She was an avid reader and lived vicariously through the novels she read.
She was A member of the Sacred Heart church in Taftville, attending faithfully until she moved into a care facility.
Burial and Memorial service will be private.
