Obituary for Douglas J. Jordan
Douglas Jordan of Norwich, Conn. passed away peacefully at Backus Hospital on Sunday, October 15, 2017.
Douglas was born in Hartford on December 14, 1946, and moved to Norwich with his parents, John E. Jordan and Elizabeth O’Connor Jordan, and his siblings, in 1959. He graduated from Norwich Free Academy in 1965, and served for four years in the U.S. Air Force. He subsequently earned a B.A. from Eastern Connecticut State College.
Douglas worked for the Thermos companies for many years, and for the balance of his career at the U.S. Naval Submarine Base in Groton.
An extremely gentle person with diverse interests, Douglas will be missed by his sister, Elizabeth (Betsy) Jordan Pepin of Norwich, his brother, John E. Jordan of Toronto, Canada, his niece, Meghan Pepin, and his nephew, James Pepin, as well as his extended family and friends.
Friends and relatives are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, October 20 at 10 am at St Patrick’s Cathedral, 211 Broadway, Norwich.
