Taftville- Katherine L. (Boenig) LaBarre 97 of Taftville passed away on Saturday August 5, 2017 at Norwichtown Rehab and Care Center in Norwich. She was the wife of the late Ernest N. LaBarre who died on October 8, 2006. Katherine was born in Versailles on October 11, 1919, the daughter of the late Herman and Gertrude (Kreiner) Boenig. She was a member of the Taftville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Sprauge Senior Citizens and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Taftville. Katherine is survived by her children Paul A. LaBarre and wife MaryBeth of Auburn, ME and Patricia Phaneuf of Taftville. Grandson David Phaneuf and wife Jessica of Killingly, and great grandson Brendan Phaneuf. Sister Helen Truncer of Norwich and several nieces. All are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church, Taftville Friday at 10:00 am. Burial of cremains to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Assn. 260 Cochituate Rd. Suite 200 Framingham, MA 01701. Godere Funeral Home 21 North Second Ave. Taftville is in charge of arrangements.
