Obituary for Lorraine T. Wisniewski
Lorraine T. Wisniewski, 92, formerly of Taftville and Uncasville, left this earth to continue on her next journey into eternal life. Born in Norwich, CT on October 14, 1928; she was the daughter of Maurice and Theresa O’Keefe, and sister of Maurice O’Keefe, Jr. Lorraine attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and Norwich Free Academy of Norwich, CT. Lorraine’s favorite places of her employment were Mr. Big’s Department Store and American Optical, both in Norwich, CT. Lorraine also loved to cook, knit and crochet. Her favorite pastime was shopping and then returning her purchases (with a smile) if she was dissatisfied. She taught us the importance of faith and love of family and touched many lives in her 92 years of life. Lorraine leaves her daughter, Sharon Labrecque of TX, and her son Maurice (Shari) Drake of Windham, CT.  She leaves her grandchildren, Scott (Dawn) Labrecque of Griswold, Kari (Randy) Robinson of Old Lyme, Laura Ferber of TX, Jeff (Danielle) Drake of Taftville, Jon Drake of Brooklyn, Shailyn (Nick) Vanase of Preston. She also leaves six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her Parents, Brother Maurice, Grandson Ryan, Spouse Charles Wisniewski and former spouse Luther Drake. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Douglas Manor for their kindness and care for the past ten years. There will be no calling hours.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, August 16th at 10am at Sacred Heart Church in Taftville.  Burial will be private at the family’s convenience.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lorraine’s memory to Sacred Heart Church, PO Box 208, Taftville CT 06380 or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
