Mark Christoper Rollinson, beloved husband, father and friend passed away at the age of 63 on March 27. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island, raised in Pomfret, CT and settled in Bozrah, CT. He attended Eastern Connecticut State University, where he met his wife Nancy (Chartier) and earned a degree in business. He was self-employed and worked primarily in the manufacturing industry. Mark absolutely loved music, especially his favorite band, Little Feat. This led to attending many musical events and festivals, and in the process making so many friends around the country. He touched more people than he knew, forming friendships and bringing people together. Nicknamed “Rollin Mark” by his friends, he was always on the move, snake necking to music and making sure everyone was having a good time.
Another passion of Mark’s was the great outdoors, which included boating, skiing and hiking. Being out on his boat on the open water brought him so much joy and happiness. He considered the White Mountains in New Hampshire his second home and loved skiing Cannon and Bretton Woods, two of his favorites. He loved sharing his passion for the great outdoors with his wife and children. Together they spent many summer weekends out on their boat and hiking in the fall. He and his wife loved working in their yard, gardening and enjoying their birds.
Without a doubt Mark’s greatest joy was his family. He loved hosting family events and when his children and their friends, who affectionately called him “Big R,” gathered at the house. In addition to his wife of 35 years, he is survived by his children, Martha Rollinson, Emma Rollinson and John Rollinson. He is also survived by his mother, M. Elizabeth (Vileno) Rollinson, his brother Paul (Frances) of Pomfret, his sister Elizabeth Rollinson Jacobs (Steven) of Stoddard, NH as well as his nephew, nieces and many cousins, aunts and uncles. He is predeceased by his father, Milton.
