Obituary for Richard John Reynolds
Richard John Reynolds, 81, of Windham, CT. died on September 19, 2020. He was born on the 27th of June, 1939, in Sydney, Australia of the late Thomas Hugh Reynolds and Violet Margaret Shipman Reynolds. He spent all of his professional life as an educator, first as a high school teacher and later as a high school administrator in Australia. He came to the US in 1986 to acquire a Masters Degree from the University of San Francisco. In 1992 he was awarded a PhD from The Ohio State University. From there, he joined the faculty of Eastern Connecticut State University where he taught for 19 years before his retirement.
Richard was an energetic and enthusiastic teacher. He was liked and respected by his colleagues and friends for his common sense approach to problems and his jovial manner.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Cambre, and his Australian family including siblings Helen Lambert (Kevin) and Thomas Reynolds, nephews Damon and Ashley Lambert and Nathan Reynolds (Gillian) and their sons Eli and Toby Reynolds, and numerous cousins.
Services will be private. Donations may be made to Eastern Connecticut State University Foundation Education Fund.
