Obituary for Shirley Ann Loveland
Shirley Ann Loveland of Green Briar Road passed away Friday morning at her home surrounded by her family, after a 15 year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born in Amsterdam, NY October 13, 1931 the daughter of Howard and Catherine Robson. Shirley was a 1949 graduate of Wilbur Lynch High School in Amsterdam, NY, then graduated from Connecticut College with a BA degree in 1984, and then graduated from Vermont College of Norwich University with an MA degree in 1994. She had once worked for State of CT Dept. of Corrections as a Certified Drug & Alcohol Counselor. Shirley volunteered with Planned Parenthood of Norwich, The CT Mental Health Assn., Contact, Literacy Volunteers, and the Cancer Society. On October 13, 1951 she was united in marriage to Lynn S. Loveland. He passed away August 2, 2015. Shirley is survived her son David L. Loveland and Laura Richards of Pittsburg, PA, two daughters Deberey Hinchey and her husband Lloyd of Norwich, and Sally Gagnon and her husband David of Lisbon, and 3 granddaughters Ashley, Abigail and Mallory Gagnon. She was predeceased by a son, Mark Edward Loveland. All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in SS. Peter & Paul Church Norwich Tuesday August 16th at 11:30 am meeting directly at Church. Burial to follow in Maplewood Cemetery. There is no visitation. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Assn. of CT 279 New Britain Rd. Suite 5 Kensington, CT 06037.
