Shirley Elizabeth Avery Murray, 66, of Norwich, beloved wife of James W. Murray, Sr. was taken into the arms of the Lord on November 17, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 17, 1951 in Norwich to Robert Clarence Avery and Mildred Mattos Avery. Shirley was married for 48 years to James W. Murray, Sr. She was a graduate of NFA, Class of 1969. She is survived by her children James Jr. and Marissa Murray of Norwich, Richard and Heather Murray of Norwich and Tamie Murray and fiance' Chris Thompson of Norwich; 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandson along with 3 brothers, Arthur Avery of Lisbon, Douglas Avery of Norwich and Robert Avery of PA, 3 sisters, Linda Avery, Marguerite (Chris) Avery of Norwich, and Mildred (Pam) Bastien or Norwich and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father Robert Clarence Avery. She will be sadly missed by all who had a pleasure of knowing her. She was a great lady, wife, mother and grandmother. A graveside funeral service will be held at Maplewood Cemetery 184 Salem Turnpike Norwich on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at
