Obituary for William E. Nash
William E. Nash passed away at home March 23, 2019. He was born in Salina, NY August 5, 1930 the son of Bernard and Helen (Ritter) Nash. William was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged December 31, 1968 with the rank of 1st Sgt. He had been employed as Manager of the Officers Club at the U.S. Submarine Base in Groton, retiring a number of years ago. On March 1, 1952 in St. Michael's Church Pawcatuck William was united in marriage to the former Phyllis Gornault. She passed away February 6, 2011. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Cathedral in Norwich, and a 3rd Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. William is survived by two sons Roger Nash of Walterboro, SC and Michael Nash of Preston, four daughters Carol Amborn of Norwich, Linda Mathieu of Fort Myers, FL, Sharon Cote of Norwich and Teresa LaPine of Walterboro, SC, 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Besides his wife he was predeceased by his son William E. Nash, Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Cathedral Norwich Monday April 1st at 10:00 am. Entombment to follow in St. Mary's Mausoleum Norwich with military honors. goderefuneralhome.com
