Obituary for Linda Ann Freyer
Linda Ann Freyer, 78 years old, of 27 Bog Meadow Road Norwich, died at the Backus Hospital after a lengthy illness. Linda was the daughter of Isadore and Mae Florman of Norwich. Linda is survived by her two children, Glen Freyer of Preston CT and Vickie Shambley of Virginia; her 3 grandchildren Jillian Freyer, Chelsea Freyer and Lily Freyer; her daughter-in-law Julie Freyer, who she became very close to during her illness; her sister Carol Florman Maynard; and several nieces and nephews. Linda was an avid artist and animal lover. She especially loved German Shepherds, which she dedicated her life to as an owner and breeder. She was extremely knowledgeable of the breed and her kennel, Gorlin Kennels, produced many exceptionally high quality show dogs and AKC champions over her lifetime. Linda also owned and operated several pet shops over the years. Linda will be missed by all that knew her, both two legged, as well as four legged.
